2001 to 2004

So far this circumnavigation has now been ongoing since 1st June 2001, after refit in Bristol England, I traveled across the Atlantic to Trinidad and up through the Caribbean and Bahamas to the USA, Again after a refit in Chesapeake I sailed, by stages, south to Miami and Key West then across the Gulf of Mexico to Houston for Christmas 2002 before heading south for Mexico, Belize and Honduras in 2003. 

By autumn I traveled on south to Panama crossing through the Panama Canal into the Pacific Ocean and spending Christmas 2003 anchored off a small island called Contadora in the Pearl Islands off the coast of west Panama. 

2004 to 2005

By January 2nd, 2004 I had crossed the equator heading south and was approaching Galapagos Islands when I had engine trouble, which necessitated me, some days later, to reverse course from the islands and head for the mainland Ecuador where I would be able to have a full engie refit and do further necessary maintenance on the boat. 

After that protracted refit I sailed west again in November 2004 to Galapagos and from there crossed the pacific ocean to the Marquesas islands in 20 days of good sailing, traveled through the beautiful Tuamutos or Dangerous Islands before arriving in Tahiti where I spent Christmas and the New Year celebrations of 2005 The devastating tsunami that struck the Indian ocean was hardly felt if at all.

2005 to 2006.

Onwards from French Polynesia is an island passage via the main south sea island groups heading to Australia and I’m looking forward to sailing around that vast continent and visiting as much of it as possible by land, air and sea.
