Information on the Cape of Good Hope (Cape of Storms), Cape Town, South Africa and East Africa cruising route has recently become highly sought-after. Many circumnavigating yachts (and those in the planning phase of cruising around the world) have changed their passage plans to  take the route across the Indian Ocean and round East Africa (Kenya, Tanzania, Seychelles, Mozambique, Madagascar) and South Africa. There is a certain amount of trepidation about this route (much unfounded) but with the correct advance information and planning this is a most rewarding route round the southern tip of a wonderful continent. Many South African sailing yachts are plying this Indian Ocean coast, the Mozambique Channel and all the offshore islands and enjoying the region's splendors. The webmaster and his wife sailed the reverse route themselves from Durban, South Africa to SE Asia on their steel ketch "sv Seerose" - (click here to read the narrative with photos).
